Last week in my technology class we went outside to take pictures. 

These are the ones I took and I pretty much love them. 

I love this tree. 

This was the only flower that had bloomed. I love the purple colors of it.

Dear Drivers

Dear People who drive tall cars,

     If you get behind me in the dark and I am driving slower than the speed limit it is because your lights are probably BLINDING me. I know you can't help that your lights hit the mirrors on my car just right to make it difficult to see. I am going slow because I can't see well and I do not want to run off the road especially going around a windy curvy mountain road. The closer you tailgate me the slower I will go. So either back off and I'll speed up or go around me.

A small car driver

Summer Session.

My backyard is a forest. Almost.  

I had my first day of summer session today. 

It was early, but good. 

I think my technology class will be fairly easy. 

I hope I will learn a lot. 

However I am not looking forward to driving to Hickory tomorrow for my night class, but it has to be done and is only five weeks long.

I hope you have been doing well and had a great Tuesday.

What inspires you?

It's Only Monday

It is only Monday and I have many things that have already made this week pretty awesome.

- Two trips to Target in one day (Is there such a thing as a Targetaholic?)

- Finding a cute dress for $13

- Rain which makes the temperature drop dramatically

- Finally admitting my car has a split personality

- Quality time with Tim before we are once again miles away from each other

- Silly and entertaining siblings

- Chick-fil-a breakfast

- A sweet Mom who will drive across town in the rain because my car won't start because of it's split personality

- Staying up until 1:30 am to finish reading the fourth Harry Potter book (which is way past my bedtime)

I hope your Monday was pretty wonderful. 

Trip to Carowinds

Tim and I took a trip to Carowinds today.

I rode one roller coaster when I was about 8, had a complete breakdown/panic attack about it and refused to ride anymore.

One day a few weeks ago I was feeling brave and told Tim that if he took me to Carowinds, I would try a roller coaster. So he did because he's the sweetest. 

We started out small on wooden roller coasters. 

 The wooden ones were jerky and I didn't really like them.

I worked my way up to a suspended roller coaster. 

 This one was fun and a lot more smooth. I liked it better than the wooden ones. 

Then I got talked into going on an upside down one. 

It was scary but by the time I had time to freak out it was over. 

And if the seven year old girl sitting next to me could do it, I knew I could do it. 

 Then we went on the Carolina Cobra. It pulls you up to create speed.

Then you go through this loop, go back up the other side and do the whole thing backwards. 

I think this one was probably my favorite. 

They put up new roller coasters. This one is the Intimidator.

It's over 5,000 feet long.  

It goes up to a height of 232 feet.

With a speed of 80 mph. 

And the biggest roller coaster in the South Eastern U.S. 

It was crazy and amazing all at the same time.

This was the incline.  Intense right?

Tim rode Drop Zone, but I won't do that one. Ever. 

He's so cute. 

I had a lot of fun. I have a nice sunburn to prove it. 

I still can't believe I rode roller coasters.

I would not have been able to do it with out Tim at my side especially because he doesn't scream on roller coasters, he laughs and his laugh always makes me laugh.

Book 21 - Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban

I finished reading book 21, Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban by J.K. Rowling. This is the third book in the Harry Potter series and probably my favorite so far. 

Harry Potter and the Prisoner of Azkaban was full of suspense and mystery. Harry Potter returns to Hogwarts for his third year of school. Meanwhile a criminal, Sirius Black, has escaped from Azkaban, the most secure prison for wizards. It is rumored that Sirius Black is at Hogwarts and out for Harry's life. Dementors are placed around the school for extra security and they have an affect on the energy of the school. Hagrid is given a teaching position, which does not start off well on the first day. Harry, Ron, and Hermione spend their year learning and surviving crazy adventures from Quidditch to helping Hagrid prepare a defense for the case against his hippogriff. This book was full of adventure and excitement as well. I loved this book. I could not put it down. I highly recommend this book.

New Favorite Quote

I came across this quote the other day and I love it.
It is my new favorite quote.
This is so true and I constantly need remind myself of this quote.
I have a hard time surrounding myself with positive encouraging people.
In high school, a few of my friends were always negative.
Every time we hung out, I would leave feeling worse about myself. I would feel like I wasn't good enough.
They would manage to put me down with out actually saying anything directly.

Then I had friends that were amazing. I always felt positive about myself when I was with them. They would  inspire me to be a better version of myself. They were encouraging and positive. I'm trying to meet more people like this. I am trying to be encouraging and positive. Some days are harder than others.

Next time a friend gets you feeling down about yourself, I want you to remember that you are great, and that you are doing wonderful things in the world. 

Bubbles

Today was the last day of exams! 

YAY! 

My roommates and I were going to have a water balloon fight but we couldn't get it to work. 

So we played with bubbles instead. 

We love bubbles.

Happy Monday!

I had a great weekend. 

We had girls night on Saturday.
We went out for Mexican and margaritas.
Then after an entertaining dinner we went to Wal-Mart,
bought a black-light along with glow sticks and scented bubbles.
Then we returned home to have fun.

Then I slept until 11 on Sunday, was up for an hour and decided it was time for a nap.
The rest of Sunday was spent reading the 3rd Harry Potter and an I Love Lucy  marathon on the Hallmark channel.
